Eating Al-Fresco in East London
British summer weather can be hit-or-miss, but one thing is for certain, when the sun does shine the al-fresco dining options in East London make the mark every time.
From restaurant terraces, to beer gardens and roof-top bars, there’s plenty of space to dine outside. Here are some of my top-picks for you to try out this summer.
La Terraza by Ibérica, Cabot Square
Bringing a little bit of European boulevard café culture to East London, La Terraza by Ibérica on Cabot Square is a great option for enjoying tapas and a jug of sangria on the outdoor terrace.
The Lowback, Water Street
The Lowback is part of the Hawksmoor empire and can be found on Canary Wharf’s floating pavilion docks. It’s a sun-trap terrace from which you can soak up the surrounding cityscape.
The Sipping Room, Hertsmere Road
The Sipping Room features an expansive Thames-side terrace and is a great choice for a post work cocktail or two.
Boisdale Garden Terrace, Cabot Place
Decked out with elaborate foliage and an indulgent menu, Boisdale Garden Terrace is the perfect pick for a romantic dinner overlooking the fountain with the city’s skyline in the distance.
Dishoom, Water Street
For incredible Indian food and a verandah overlooking the water, head to Water Street in Wood Wharf where you’ll stumble upon Dishoom.
