It might feel like the celebratory period has passed for the majority of the UK. But here in London, the countdown to Chinese New Year is proudly prominent.
I have a huge appreciation for Chinese New Year and the bold and brilliant way in which it is celebrated.
The parades, the food, the focus on family and wishing good fortune on those around us - I am here for all of it.
Here in London, the festivities typically start on Chinese New Years Eve, landing on Saturday 21st January and will last until the Lantern Festival which is on 5th February this year.
From bobsledding in Canada, to turning the Sydney Opera House red in Australia, the entire globe turns up to celebrate the biggest festival in the world.
Here’s a short clip showcasing some of the celebrations that take place across the world:
Through sports, through food, through fireworks and classroom artwork, through parades and parties, all families will come together to feast and share and welcome a new year.
I’d love to know, how will you be celebrating?
